Try La Ruta that is. Reading the various reports has given me a bit of an itch to sign up – especially that Dicky guys account. What better way to rationalize a new bike purchase than by destroying your bike as you drag it through the jungle for four days and have it hosed down with kerosene at night!

Logistically it could be pretty easy with family in San Jose and Jaco and plenty of air miles to swing tickets. But to go back to Costa Rica and spend time sweating through the jungle on a bike instead of surfing – that’s the rub for me – I think I’ll take the surfing instead…

Hellooo Winter

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

Headed into the forest for a ride last night. Conditions deteriorated from rain to ice to snow, leaving a fine veneer of slickness on everything. Made for some interesting riding conditions to be sure. We were slipping and sliding all over the place. Woke up this morning to 4+ inches of snow. Winterpark’s reporting 6 inches and that’s where we’re headed this morning for Thanksgiving – fun, fun!

Give skis a chance

Monday, November 19th, 2007

Interesting article about Albanians and Serbs putting aside their differences when the snow flies in the NYT today – “We love to ski more than we love to hate,” he said, in fluent Serbian. “We just want to have a good time”.  Carry on!

A few winters older

*#!@ Waren Miller and his product placement driven, cookie cutter film making. Nine Winters Old looks to be the real deal! Now bring on the snow already (at least up in the mountains).
