Mud season

Up to the mountains this weekend for some fun. Out for a ride on Saturday morning I had my doubts upon seeing the snow covered trail. The ride had everything from just a trace to 5 inches of snow. Fortunately the creek crossings were mostly frozen, making it fairly easy to get across without getting soaked. It was a fun ride, slipping and sliding around in the snow and ice. Didn’t see a single person the whole time. Hung up the bike and ran down lower today around creekside, zoom and flume. The trails were a mixed bag of muck, snow and ice. Next up – skis!

Winterpark

A little late, but did a weekend of riding in Winterpark last week. Rode many of the old standards – zoom, flume, elk, tipperary, etc. Discovered that the Tipperary/Spruce ride is best done in that order, especially on the single speed…
