Where the rubber meets the road from time to time…
The family headed up to Steamboat this weekend. The annual run was the main attraction, but I was still able to get out for a couple of rides. There’s still an amazing amount of snow up on top of Rabbit Ears pass, but our local guide was able to steer us towards some good dry rides a little lower. Lots of flowers, bugs and even saw a couple of bears out and about - not a ton of pics, too busy riding…
Even came across this old Unimog on Sunday. This would be a great bio-diesel project!
Due to a host of issues the neighborhood posse was left with the C option for a ride on Saturday, missing the local shindig. Our back up plan took us to some of fun trails to the north - Coyote Ridge, Blues Sky and Lory including a little stint on the dirt jumps/pump track. After ride festivities included empty cans and bb’s. All in all, not bad for plan “C”.
State cyclocross championships were here in Lyons this weekend and the conditions were prime. Four inches of snow, cold temps and sunny skies. The kiddos and I checked out some of the action after a morning of turns at Eldora. Great day! (follow the link for more pics)
Beautiful ride tonight. Headed out from the homestead - 50’s and a little windy. The warm weather the last couple of days has taken care of the weekends snow and made for some dry trails. Don’t think this will last too much longer, not in December at least.
Headed into the forest for a ride last night. Conditions deteriorated from rain to ice to snow, leaving a fine veneer of slickness on everything. Made for some interesting riding conditions to be sure. We were slipping and sliding all over the place. Woke up this morning to 4+ inches of snow. Winterpark’s reporting 6 inches and that’s where we’re headed this morning for Thanksgiving - fun, fun!
