Did I say Kermit? I meant H instead of K, silly me. There are some okay trails in this neck of the woods. But it’s mostly sandy, loose double track covered in old cars parts and shotgun shells. Maybe I could be convinced to go check it out again (perhaps in a couple weeks when the Aspens are all golden yellow).
Yesterday was a very different day than today. But being back home has it’s advantages - breakfast from the kids and some nice summer skiing. Today was supposed to be a long Fathers Day ride, but as I stumbled around in a state of jet lag, procrastinating riding, an alternate plan was hatched - skiing. After a noon “snowboarder” start, we were relegated to some less committing lines as the afternoon’s thunder clouds built up. After some hiking and aimless bumbling up above tree line, we finally got in some turns. What a difference a day makes…
I’ve been striking out on seeing some installations lately, but happened to stumble across UVA’s “Volume” piece while walking along Queen’s walk tonight. It’s not installed at the picturesque Victoria and Albert Museum any longer, but is still a really cool piece of work and a happy find along the river.
The family headed up to Steamboat this weekend. The annual run was the main attraction, but I was still able to get out for a couple of rides. There’s still an amazing amount of snow up on top of Rabbit Ears pass, but our local guide was able to steer us towards some good dry rides a little lower. Lots of flowers, bugs and even saw a couple of bears out and about - not a ton of pics, too busy riding…

Even came across this old Unimog on Sunday. This would be a great bio-diesel project!
